4. Connect the centre figure with the main embranchments, then connect the main embranchments with the secondary embranchments, and then the third embranchments, and so on.
Why? Because, as you know, you think with connection. If you connect the embranchment, it’ll be easier for you to understand and remember things. At the same time you create the basic structure of your thinking by doing so. It is much similar to a tree, whose branches spread out from the trunk. If there’s a break between trunk and main branches or main branches and smaller branches, a problem will break out. If there’s no linking line in your mindmap, everything(especially in the process of your study and memory)will break down. So connect!
5.Make the embranchment of the mindmap curving but not straight.
Why? Because your brain is getting tired of the beelines. Curves and embranchment, just like branches on the tree, will attract you more.
6. Write a keyword beside every line.
Why? Because every single word can make the mindmap more powerful and animated. Every word and picture is just like a mother, boring sons related to herself and connected to each other. It helps you to generate new ideas when you use a single keyword, and the word will become free. But phrases and sentences will easily kill such inspiration. It is like a agile hand with keywords in it, while others full of phrases and sentences are just like hands pinned on the board.
7. Use figures from the start and to the end
Up to now, my opinion on mindmap is: describe your ideas with figures, no matter by hand or by using a software. You can draw yourself or find some to copy, or combine both, according to your tastes.
